Definately a WW2 or earlier M33, but I am not sure what the hole in the front is for. (Well, I know now what the hole indicates - Italian collector Bruno Murgia tells me that it indicates a sub-standard helmet issued to non-combatant units.) |
Note that there is no sign of there ever having been an insignia stencilled on the front. |

Definately a postwar example. Note no hole in front. Obviously tested and found good!

The canvas chinstrap is a certain clue that this is a postwar production model. |
